Three-Rex | Annabelle’s 3rd Birthday

We celebrated our favorite Little Miss last weekend with a Three-Rex party. It’s hard to believe that she’s really THREE…time is flying! As each year passes, it’s bitter-sweet to look back and think about how much she has grown since her last birthday.

She has been loving so many different things lately, but when it came down to deciding a birthday party theme, I showed her a few different ideas and she immediately loved the Three-Rex party! So, we decided to have fun with it and make this the Three-Rex party of her dreams.

To my surprise, as I was sharing this idea with my mom, she told me she had a variety of left-over tropical decor from a girls camp that she was in over this summer.  So, I happily took those decorations and made them work with our party decor.

We were blessed to have family that lives close as well as even more family that traveled to be here to celebrate with us.  Little Miss Annabelle is so loved by family and friends and she was spoiled by everyone with the fun, love, laughter and memories we made over the weekend.

When family and friends gather in the summer, what better way to celebrate than with a BBQ.  We had hamburgers and hotdogs, for the carnivores; a variety of veggies, for the herbivores; pretzel sticks were the dinosaur bones; and watermelon was cut perfectly to look like dinosaur spikes.  Yep, when there’s a theme we like to apply it to the food too – and everyone thought it was oh so clever!

For dessert, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make a fabulous birthday cake, so I went with Cake by Courtney’s Most Delicious, Life-Changing Chocolate Cake.  It turned out even better than I expected and Annabelle couldn’t keep her fingers out of the frosting.  Courtney’s cakes have never failed me and I haven’t found a cake of hers that I don’t like…so I might be sticking with her recipes for quite a while for these birthday cakes.

This girl right here, is our everything.  We love her so so much and still cannot believe how quickly she is growing up.

Multiple times throughout the day she would remind us, “It’s my birthday, today!” and it was the cutest thing ever!  She didn’t want her birthday to end.  I would say that this was a birthday she will remember for years to come.  I can’t help but say thank you to all the family and friends that made her birthday the best birthday we could giver her.
