Halloween Meals & Snacks

Halloween is here and I am all about having some fun snacks and meals that bring in the holiday spirit.  I cannot take credit for these, because there are other amazing people out there that have inspired me to make these.

Here are a few of my favorite things that I’ve had fun making and our little family has loved eating.

Breakfast Ideas

Jack-o-Lantern Waffles

What a fun way to start the morning with a grinning Jack-o-Lantern to brighten your day! Use your favorite waffle mix, I LOVE Kodiak cakes, and use food coloring to bring the pumpkin to life.  Carefully use a spoon to design the Jack-o-Lantern with some mini chocolate chips.

If you have a small waffle maker, they make the perfect size for your little ones and are a great snack to bring with you to the pumpkin patch or Trick or Treating.

Monster Dutch Babies

This is one of my all time favorite breakfasts! I grew up calling these pancakes Dutch Babies, but I know many people call them German Pancakes.

They are delicious and easy to make and the only thing you need to do for the Monster look is to add some eyes.  Add the toppings you like to make them taste just the way you like.

Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls

Whether you make these from scratch or buy the can of cinnamon rolls from the store, these will turn out cute and be oh so yummy!

Don’t forget the finishing touches of adding some food coloring to make the icing orange and green for the pumpkin look.

I have occasionally seen Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Rolls at the store, and I think that would be delicious and the perfect flavor to go with these too.

Jack-o-Lantern Fruit Cup

In preparation for all the candy your little ones will be eating, here is a way to get some fruit in their tummies.  You can use little cuties or full size oranges, just prepare yourself for the thicker skin on the full size oranges.

Choose the fruit you want to add inside, scoop it into your jack-o-lantern and you’re ready to go!

Lunch & Dinner Ideas

Mummy Hot Dogs

Here is a quick and easy dinner to get on the table before you go Trick or Treating! The perfect thing to get in your little ones tummies to keep them happy while you’re out walking for the net little bit.

You can make these with full size hot dogs or even make mini ones with the little smokey’s.  I like to get Crescent Roll Dough and cut it into small strips to wrap around the hot dogs, but again, you can make something homemade or use anything else you would like.

Frankenstein Boo-ritos

You can quickly throw some bean and cheese burritos together, or make all the mixings and get a big and hearty burrito to decorate to look like Frankenstein.

To get the green tortilla, look for a spinach flavored tortilla or wrap.  You may need to look by the bread at your grocery store rather than by the tortillas.

Papa Murphy’s Jack-o-Lantern Pizza

Can you ever go wrong with this classic pizza? Not to mention, picking up a freshly pre-made pizza saves a ton of time!

I love grabbing one of their salads to go with it, so we get a few greens with our dinner too.  If you haven’t tried their salads they’re 100% worth it!

Spicy Hamburger Pizza Mummies

Hamburgers are always so filling and I can’t think of a better dinner idea for Halloween.

This is a great idea if you’re trying to save yourself some time on the night of Halloween.  You can easily make this a day or two before and then throw it in the oven when you’re ready for it

Snack Ideas

Pumpkin Vegetable Tray

I can’t help it but find all the fun jack-o-lantern ideas.  This is one that will hopefully make eating vegetable fun in your house.  Sneaking in vegetables can be a bit tricky, but we need all the veggies we can get this time of year with amount of candy we all start eating…I hope I’m not the only one with this problem.

Jamielyn over at I Heart Naptime gives a lot of great suggestions of how to best make this and the variety of vegetables you can use too.

Halloween Snack Board

I am seriously dying over all the creative snack boards that I’m seeing!

These are a great option because you can add so much variety and bring all the fun colors and festive things into one snack.  I’ll share a few more pictures of ones that i love becuase there are just too many good ones I just had to share.

Apple Monster Teeth

Here is another cute, easy, non-candy idea that kids will love!

I always love apples and peanut butter, so getting to throw in some chocolate (or nutella) and some marshmallows will make them a major hit for little ones!

Scarecrow Crunch Snack Mix

I couldn’t forget a Snack Mix of some sort! So here is this amazing and fall filled snack mix that everyone will love.

Of course, if there is something in this mix tat you’re not a huge fan of, just find an easy replacement or don’t worry about adding it!

There are so so so many ideas out there and I’m really going to have to schedule my meals and snacks better so I can try all the ones I want.

I hope this give you some fun ideas and can make your meals and time together as a family even more festive this year.

Happy Halloween!
